Welcome to GRACE & SPACE (our Deconstructing Mamas Newsletter)

If you are trying to figure out how to navigate the tricky tightrope of parenting while you have questions, doubts and wonderings about your spiritual journey, our podcast and NOW, THIS NEWSLETTER is for you.

It doesn't matter if your kids are smalls, middles, or bigs.

We will explore what and how we are deconstructing from churchianity, harmful belief systems, and diving deep into the ways we can work this out in parenthood.

We will also work through ideas for reconstructing a space for our families to thrive under new systems of love and freedom.

We can't wait to bring you some hope that you are not alone and that it's really okay, even good, to explore all the possibilities that may have felt closed off in the past.

Our podcast, and NOW, THIS NEWSLETTER, will offer you GRACE & SPACE to be exactly where you are and who you are.

We are glad you are here.

Here are some of the exciting things you can expect to receive:

1. Latest news and updates (before anyone else) about what exciting things are on the horizon!

2. Special articles designed to help you along on your deconstructing and parenting journey.

3. Recommendations that will bring you much-needed support.

4. Random things. There always needs to be room for that!

5. The continuous reminder that...

On this first week, we'd love to share several books that we have read and have helped us on our own evolving faith journeys. Pete Enns - The Sin of Certainty Rachel Held Evans - Inspired Brian Zahnd - Sinners in the Hands of a Loving God

Brian McLaren - Faith After Doubt

Glennon Doyle - Untamed

Jared Byas - Love Matters More Richard Rohr - The Universal Christ

Barbara Brown Taylor - Leaving Church

Sarah Bessey - Out of Sorts

As we close out this first of many newsletters, we want to again remind you that we are so glad you are here. We wouldn't be the same without you. You will always find GRACE for where you've been and who you are now, and SPACE for who you are becoming and will be.

If you go to the website of IKAR, a progressive Jewish synagogue located in Los Angeles, you will find these words. They express how we feel about ourselves (and now you). We are dreamers...

We are seekers...

We are doers...

We are activists...

We are thinkers...

We are hell-raisers...

We are irreverently pious...

We are piously irreverent...

We are die-hards...

We are newbies...

We are skeptics...

Carry on, our new-found friends. Welcome to the twisty-windy path that's laid out before us all. Love,

Lizz & Esther P.S. Perhaps some of you miss the music associated with your faith tradition, but it feels prickly every time you turn it on. We've been on a mission to find songs that are inclusive, holistic and part of our evolving faith. We hope you enjoy it (and if you don't, that's completely fine too). As Lizz always says, "you do you."
