Jenga Faith (Grace & Space from the Deconstructing Mamas)

Somehow, we have missed a lovely truth about creation.⁣ Here’s how it begins:⁣ All things in this beautiful, complex, extraordinary⁣ universe are ultimately made of energy. Even human beings. And energy 𝘪𝘴 and 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦.⁣ It never, ever dies. Never ceases to exist.⁣ It merely changes form.⁣ Perhaps energy has a place within the grandest mystery.⁣ The word itself has only existed these past few hundred years.⁣ And the word does not give it meaning.⁣ So here's the long-lost secret.⁣ There's another name for energy... a name that gives it meaning.⁣ Back at the beginning, it was also known as LOVE. So Love is the energy that weaves us all together.⁣ And, perhaps, when all is said and done,⁣ Love alone sustains us.⁣ This means Love is both within us and 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘶𝘴.⁣ We cannot exist outside of Love.⁣ Not now. ⁣ Not ever.⁣ We come from Love…⁣ and we'll return to Love...⁣ when our bodies grow too weary.⁣ We will simply change our form.⁣ And yet, there’s still another name…⁣ God is Love.⁣ And Love is God. So you and I are woven from divine and holy threads... the very threads of our Creator.

Just imagine what this means.⁣ --Cassie Gottula Shaw--

This Week on the Podcast: The author of those beautiful words, Cassie Gottula Shaw, a fellow deconstructing mama and brilliant faith researcher, walks us through something she's deemed "faith Jenga." Listen in as we chat through the blocks of our faith, the carefully constructed faith towers we build, what we do with the blocks we want to pull out and throw away, and what we can work with the ones we want to keep going forward as we rebuild our new faith structure. She says this: "I finally took out that last block in my “faith Jenga” tower and it all came crashing down. I expected it to hit the ground, but it didn’t." Listen to find out what happened instead. Cassie is passionate about faith, motherhood, mental health and especially self-discovery and self-love. She's equal parts fiery (she's got one burning in her soul) and grace (she will make you feel safe and very much loved). It's a shorter interview this time around, but chock full of so many "mic drop moments" that you will be rewinding and taking notes. You definitely don't want to miss out! At this level, for as little as $3, you can ask questions, experience a safe and welcoming community with others who are deconstructing and receive special surprises along the way from Lizz and Esther.

We've been doing this for a couple of months now and it's been more than we could have imagined. We love it there and think you will too! Head to this LINK to sign up!!

Lizz and Esther are Contributing Authors in the Coolest Book (with the Coolest Cover)

Deconstructing Hell is set to release late this year and takes dead aim at one of the most destructive doctrines of Church history: the doctrine of eternal suffering for the non-believer.

Lizz's chapter is titled, "A Gospel of Hope" (Jesus doesn’t need hell; how the love of God alone can provide an attractive hope) and Esther's chapter is titled, "Pushed by Fear or Led by Love?" (raising children with a gospel of value and dignity vs. fear). We are joining 14 other authors, and cannot wait for this much-needed resource to be in your hands! We are thankful for Chad Bahl for putting it all together for us! Check it out more HERE!

Resource Alert:

We are already preparing for Season Three and this past week, we met with the most interesting someone who is doing a great work (and who's definitely coming on)! He has an Instagram page called "Today I Pray for You" because he decided one day that he was allowed to pray however he wanted (there were no "gatekeepers" to this connection with the Divine) and figured why not throw up his prayers on the "Gram" for others to engage with. Talk about a breath of fresh air! It reminds us that NO ONE gets to have a corner on the market when it comes to our faith journeys. This is what his caption is: "No matter your background or your faith tradition. No matter if you pray or how you pray. You are welcome here. The space between us is sacred." Give him a FOLLOW. You won't regret it!

We want to again remind you that we are so glad you are here. We wouldn't be the same without you. You will always find GRACE for where you've been and who you are now, and SPACE for who you are becoming and will be.

Carry on, our new-found friends. Welcome to the twisty-windy, full -of-adventure faith path that's laid out before us all. Love,
